Nothing you have said actually relates to the persons problem!!! No one disputes that smaller doses can be administered or if the active ingredient remains stable…..
I did not say the strength could be reduced, and can’t see how it could be mis-interpreted that way. Nobody in their right mind would dilute the contents.

But that is what the person thinks they are doing, reducing the strength down to 5mg from 15mg by reducing the amount they administer!!!

They’re reducing the amount by reducing the volume.

Yes, that is what I said, they reduce the amount by reducing the clicks….but you cannot reduce the strength of the active ingredient because it is a solute, therefore the active ingredient is distributed evenly across the whole of the fluid in the pen.

I think that the mods ought to seriously consider what this poster calling themselves ‘Millie’ is saying as people might believe what they read - it has the potential to be dangerous.
Mixing up the units describing the quantity of active ingredient with the units describing the volume of carrier used for the dose can cause serious confusion.
Some reading these posts may not appreciate that the ‘Millie’ poster is either maliciously or unintentionally spreading twaddle.

Agreed. Very much reads like someone on one very particular side of a fence.. I am happy to take the golden dose and I ensure I work as sterile as I can and maintain the pen in the fridge.

As someone else has said its a mg in a ml format.
Going by what your saying your saying that 1 tiny drop of mounjaro has the same strength as taking a full shot.. So wrong…
Prime example
If you have a 200mg paracetamol and break this in half which alot of DRs tell patients to do with some medicaiton is because they want them to take only 100mg dose.
Exactly the same with Mounjaro..
if 0.6ml contains in 5mg then halving that dose gives your 2.5mg
Stop going back to diluting you are not diluting anything you are just halving a dose

I am really concerned about the statements made by Millie on this thread and am more concerned that people are listening to them. It is simple maths. If it’s easier think about it as calories. If you have a 100ml glass of coke you are drinking 42 calories. If you have 50ml of coke you’re drinking 21 calories. The same principle applies with this and any other drug whatever it is. If you take half the quantity you get half the dose, if you take double the quantity you get double the dose.
Her argument that the dose is the same dose regardless of what quantity you take is dangerous nonsense, please do not listen to her. Her posts should be removed.

Whose suggestions are this? What are their qualifications? What liabilities do they assume if their suggestions are followed?
I entirely disagree that it is “simple maths”. Millie’s comments make a lot of sense to me. Though I do not know what here qualifications are, or yours, for that matter. I follow the guidance by my prescribing pharmacist, which are largely in line with Millie’s comments.
I have used the Eli Lilly Kwikpens since well before they were available with mounjaro : they were originally developed for insulin. Naturally with insulin it is essential to click count in order to get the correct dose although the pen itself shows a click count as units of insulin. The same 28days limits did apply But that was determined by the length of time insulin retained its efficacy at room temperature . As with many who have diabetes, I kept the pens in the fridge and used them until fully finished which could be double the 28days. Moving on to MJ I continued that practice as I was able to smoothly ramp up my dose by click counting first 10mg then now 15mg pens. I am absolutely certain the insulin did not degrade in efficacy and can see no reason why M would be different provided usual infection precautions are taken.and it is not left outside the 2 - 10C range. Biggest risk is becoming too Cold.

I’ve had a pen last nearly 2 months and it’s been fine!! Scare tactics, I use a cleaning steret each time and I am really careful.
