What am I doing so wrong?

Hello, am new here.

I have been on mounjaro since May 2025 I was given it by my diabetic nurse for type 2 plus I was also advised by my heart institute doctor to use it as they have received good results in controlling lipids. I have triple vascular heart disease.

All that said I had already lost four stone on my own, this took me over fiver years, I still need to lose 3 stone more. I did lose one stone about a month after starting Mounjaro, then not much more really. I have been counting calories, keeping between 800 to 1,200 and not one calorie over. I haven’t lost any weight since October last year.

I have noticed I have extreme fatigue, can’t get out of bed. Am feeling really sick most mornings, not sleeping, my sleep is totally rubbish, am exhausted. I have the most awful constipation, nurse said drink more water when I already drink 10 to 12 glasses a day  I have been trying to find out why. Need to obtain an appointment with my diabetic nurse. I had wondered if Mounjaro has effected my liver? As I have been getting discomfort in my right side by my rib cage. It’s not my gallbladder as that was removed five years ago.

What am I doing wrong???

Sorry to hear that. You don’t say what dose you are on and it sounds like you need to move up.

I got dreadful constipation on Mounjarro until my prescriber advised to use Laxido and avoid any fibre bsed laxatives as they make it worse. Now no problem at all.

I think you do need an appointment with your precriber/doctor rather than just a diabetic nurse who didn’t seem to know what do about Mounjaro costipation. Especiallyso if you are worried it could be something underlying. They should also advise on dose.

Hi Annie,

Has the diabetic nurse referred you to a dietitian? Odd as it sounds, it could be you are not eating enough and/or that your macros are wrongly balanced eg you need more protein and fibre. Do your 12 glasses of water add up to 2 to 3litres? Are you trying small meals spread throughout the day? Have you calculated your TDEE to see whzt calories you need for maintenance and then cutting? Are you able to move about much or even do chair based workouts? If you are on Mumsnet, there are many threads with hundreds if not thousands of women who have been on WLI for 18/2= months who might have some advice too from their own experience. Ihope things improve soon
